Sustainable Menstruation
Sustainable Menstruation : A Way of Life
Our Sustainable Menstruation workshops break the silence around periods while educating women and girls on the health and environmental risks of commercial sanitary pads. Many don’t know these pads are made from plastic and chemicals that can cause irritation, infections, and long-term issues—and generate massive waste.
We introduce safe, sustainable options like menstrual cups, cloth pads, and period panties.

Our Program
Sustainable Menstruation promotes menstrual practices and products that are safe for the body, cost-effective, and eco-friendly. Unlike disposable pads and tampons—made of plastic, chemicals, and slow to decompose—sustainable alternatives reduce health risks and environmental harm.
-
Workshops: Workshops: A 45–60 minute interactive session that educates women and girls on the health and environmental risks of commercial sanitary pads. Participants are introduced to safe, eco-friendly options such as menstrual cups, cloth pads, and period panties, with Q&As and product demonstrations to build confidence and comfort.
-
Internships: A 4–5 day program where girls explore menstrual health, taboos, and waste impact. Interns return to their schools and communities to lead peer sessions and promote sustainable products, sparking conversations and change.
-
Monitoring & Evaluation : Participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and product adoption are tracked before and after sessions to measure impact and behavioral shifts.
The program fosters dignity, informed choices, and community leadership in menstrual health and sustainability.
